De Wijnboer Amsterdam focuses on importing wines from small European family businesses. Unique wines, most of which are only available in the Netherlands at De Wijnboer Amsterdam. Because the wines are delivered directly to De Wijnboer via the producer without intermediaries, I can offer these wines at a favourable price-quality ratio. Small family businesses cannot supply large supermarket chains, they have too little production to handle the large volumes. But since families have often grown wine in the same place for generations, they respect the land and work more or less organically. They make their own product, which does not have to meet supermarket requirements in terms of filtering or public taste. This means that the wines have their own style and character. I think it is important that these small family businesses can continue to exist. Wine making has been part of our European culture for centuries and the diversity of grapes and styles we have in Europe is something to cherish.
